Disability Service Providers
This page provides links to disability service providers. While inclusion on this list does not necessarily signify any endorsement by CAN, there is an attempt to list organizations that are faith-based, non-profit, and family friendly.
Catholic
A number of Catholic dioceses operate service provider organizations for persons with disabilities. A comprehensive list does not seem to be available, but the National Catholic Partnership on Disability (NCPD) has several links from which to start searching: Ministries/Programs and Links. Here is a sampling of some programs:

Lutheran
Lutheran Services in America Disability Network
LSA-DN is a nationwide association in the United States of Lutheran organizations and professionals supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and related conditions. The page includes links to 27 members in 32 states and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Among the best known are Bethesda which is based in Wisconsin but offers services in many states, Kencrest, based in southeastern Pennsylvania, and Mosaic which has services primarily from the western Great Lakes states southwest into Texas.
Mennonite
Mennonite Health Services Alliance
MHS lists member organizations from California to Pennsylvania. On this page, select “Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities” to refine your search. Two of the largest organizations are Sunshine Communities in northwest Ohio, and Friendship Community in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
Other Christian service providers
Heritage Christian Services
Heritage Christian Services strives to “provide a living and working environment that reflects the love of Christ in action” in the Rochester and Buffalo, New York areas.
Developmental Disabilities Ministries
DDM owns and operates 19 group homes in the State of Georgia while providing “a continuum of need-based services and Christian ministry for people with developmental disabilities and their families so that each person may realize maximum developmental growth.”
L’Arche International
L’Arche is an international federation of communities in which persons with disabilities and companions live and work in community households. As such, it stresses mutual relationships of friendship and support rather than client-professional relationships. In addition to the L’Arche International website, the L’Arche Communities in the United States are listed on the L’Arche USA website.
